Privacy
This beta privacy notice explains what CritChess stores and why. Last updated 1 October 2026.Data we use
Guest players receive a random device identifier. If you sign in with Google, CritChess stores your Google account identifier, email address and display name. Google is used for authentication, not importing your photo. Avatars are selected from our curated collection; we store the selected portrait identifier, not personal image uploads. We also store rating, match results, War Marks, owned cosmetics and equipped appearance.
Why we use it
The data is used to authenticate you, match players, prevent duplicate rewards, maintain rankings, fulfill purchases and synchronize progress. CritChess does not sell personal data.
Storage, payments and advertising
Application data is hosted through Cloudflare. Google provides sign-in. When checkout is enabled, Stripe processes payment details; CritChess stores transaction references, product, price, status and entitlement, but not full card details. Google AdSense may serve advertising to Free players only after its production configuration and required consent controls are enabled. Active supporters do not receive the AdSense unit from CritChess.
Your choices
You can play as a guest without a Google account. Signing out stops the current authenticated session. Registered players can download a portable copy of their account data or permanently delete their account from the profile page.
Local storage and retention
This browser stores game preferences, practice progress, the current AI/local battle and pending reward proofs. They are not automatically synchronized to another device. Clearing site data removes these local records. Account deletion removes or anonymizes active account data; restricted backups may retain older data until their retention period ends. Current closed-beta retention is reviewed manually, not automatically enforced.
Privacy contact
Operator details will be published before the public launch. During closed testing, contact the person who invited you.
